Ford Cortina 1500GT Mk.1 | Sold, following a disasterous MOT failure, to a local fireman. He claimed he was going to restore it, but I suspect he probably just wanted to cut the roof off... | My very first car I had always wanted a Cortina Mk.1 ever since Dad replaced our family Ford Anglia with a secondhand 1500 Deluxe in the late sixties. Of course, as a 17 year old by the time I got to own one, it had to be a GT
Not the best example to be honest, but I loved it
At around the same time I owned this car I remember another 1500GT 2 door which had been abandonned in the street not far from where we lived. It didnt move for perhaps three or four years, and just got dirtier and dirtier. Eventually the council came round and removed it. What would that car be worth today
The first of three white Cortina Mk.1 GTs which I have owned: KDD467E and NBF369D would follow later.
