Ford Scorpio 2.9i Ghia Automatic | Sold to Mr. Waand8203lters, from Scunthorpe, who didnt seem fazed by the horrendous fuel consumption and actually planned to use this car as a taxi | Purchased with the intention it should become my daily driver, this V6 Scorpio had been taken in partex by a local garage forecourt just as I happened to be passing. In clean condition, and with just two former owners a local GP and his wife, it certainly looked like a bargain I had driven plenty of Ford Granadas in the past and always enjoyed them so I had no reservations about going for this Scorpio.
Sadly it transpired to be not a patch on my earlier Granadas: the interior trim was unbelievably cheap and nasty and worse no matter how carefully I drove this car I could never better 20 MPG with 17 MPG as the norm...
I simply couldnt afford to run it, and so this Scorpio spent the next five months sitting unused in the garage.
